Issue:
Can a script pick up the Audio Stream Title Notification?
Firestorm viewer can send that stream title to any channel (default open chat)
If this string can be picked up, evaluated, to decide what texture to pick for object's face.
5/10 [21:52] (You): Hello Vivix, I believe I have the problem solved. I bought a Stream Board (below) and it shouts the music stream text in open chat (0.) I already had a developer (Ydille) working on a mod to her sign panel that would listen to open chat, so this may be solved. Hold on for now, and I will update you if this works right. Hello, Vivix. I saw your listing in MP for llisten class. I am looking for a script that will 'read' the song title changes in parcel audio stream and change the texture of its object based upon the title string. The goal is to hear the song title of my dance class stream, and change an INFO PANEL to the correct photo for that song. Is this something you have, or could produce for a fee? Thanks in advance for your response. [email protected]
Ydille,
I am thinking about a different way to control the INFO PANEL signs (texture changing objects) for 2Ldance.org's studio.
I see that Firestorm Viewer can pick up parcel audio stream TITLE information, and speak it in chat (or on specified channel)
So you see the name of the next song announced by the stream
I can control this stream title information and send the triggers for signs
Can an object pick up the stream title information directly from the stream?
Or could one script pick this information up and send it to a channel
then the INFO PANEL would listen to that channel, hear the trigger, and pick the texture.
Does this seem possible?
Carlyle

5/10 notify her of development with Stream Title approach
[21:59] (You): Hello Cecilia, I believe I have my problem solved with a different approach. We are using the Parcel Music Stream song title to control the INFO PANELS (spoken in open chat.) This should be a simpler approach. No need to ask for the mod we discussed. Thank you so very much for being willing to consider that mod and help. I will send you an invite when we start our classes!
Latest Word: 5/04: She is going to MODIFY the Intan to do this. No guarantees when. Are you believing that!!

Hello Cecila,
I am creating FREE Dance Lessons in SL, and I would like to use my Intan Couples Dance Machine to control a texture panel as part of the lesson experience.
I would like to have the VERBOSE function send the dance name string to public chat or to a channel that a panel could listen to, not just to the owner. Is this a feature that could be added for a fee?
I hope if my 2LDance.org project is a success, there will be multiple studios providing these FREE lessons, each using this feature on their Intan.

Try this first, as i'm trying not to make customization branch as it would mess on future version.
Carlyle Chaparral: Thanks for your reply, Cecilia. I asked a developer (Ydille) to look at this to build a listening texture-change panel, and she said that message is sent to the owner/person setting Verbose. My challenge is, I may have a variety of instructors present (not me) or no instructor at all for the self-guided classes. That's why I need the message sent on a channel in a manner that an object nearby can listen to. I will give Ydille your comments and see if that helps. Thanks so much for your willingness to discuss. Our Dance Lesson experience would be greatly enhanced by the ability of the Intan to switch info panels with each dance selection.

[23:39] Cecilia Zheng: Greeting, it's can be quite tricky then, if you want to make without instructor. With Instructor, the dance information on VERBOSE mode is send to the couple who select the mode or a dance. But without instructor, who should be listened, because every people use the Intan Couple Dance Ball can select their own dance and can be differ from one to another couple. Let say, there are 2 couples (4 people) and each couple select their own dance, so then, we can't determine what to be displayed
[23:41] (You): Oh I see. Of course. And a GROUP mode defeats the purpose of teaching the students how to touch and control the Intan machine.
[23:42] (You): If only an object could hear what the Intan was speaking! LOL
[23:42] (You): Thank you so much for your ideas
[23:43] Cecilia Zheng: yes, the Group Mode will make all couple dance the same movement, but every couple can change their own.
[23:44] (You): There are HUGE photo panels with pictures of each kind of dance that change with each dance. The students will see those pictures as they do the dance.
[23:44] (You): For now the LEAD dancer will be asked to change the photo panel as he changes the dance
[23:48] (You): thanks again!
[23:52] Cecilia Zheng: just read again the documentation , seem my idea would not work, as on channel 0, the HUD/Attachment will not get message from llRegionSayTo

[23:55] (You): Could a deeded object hear it?

I have a number of scripted jingles as part of our first dance class (2Ldance.org) and I would like to have them professionally rendered once we have the final scripts. I'm using my voice for the rehearsal loop and it sux. We are talking about 10 speeches, most between 40-50 seconds max. You could record in a single take, including redos, I could do all editing (luv Audacity lol.) I'd love your involvement in 2Ldance. in any capacity, including Hired Pipes. Right now on my stream the delay is approx 42 seconds (and constant) but this may need to be variable and set by user for other streams. It works reliably but is just out of synch with the experience. This delay will make it perfect. [2015/05/10 13:33] Second Life: User not online - message will be stored and delivered later. [10:35] (You): The preload time seems fine; the transition is very smooth, with a fade effect. that is nice. I don't need a frame in my version. You might want to add a 1 prim frame for your product version. Great news about the delay! I think most DJs and venues will set it to around 15-24 seconds, typical for single streams. Mine right now runs through a relay, so there is really two delays of about 20 seconds each resulting in the 42 second total (which is long.) Carlyle Chaparral: Hello Ydille, I recently bought your Picture Frame 3p V147 and it is working very well. I am looking for a slider like this which can listen to local chat, and select photos (textures) based upon open chat strings such as "01 Waltz" and "02 Swing" that is generated by my Intan couples dance ball in "Verbose" mode. The idea is to have the panel switch to a texture based upon what dance is selected. Do you have a frame with this feature, or is it feasible to consider adding this for a fee? Thanks for your response.

[2015/04/24 16:01] Carlyle Chaparral: You bet, Ydille! For my purpose, I only need the LISTEN function, not the slider or any other function. I took a look at using this Listening Texture Script (https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Listening-Texture-Script/587271) but dealing with UIDs and open chat listens is beyond me. I could put TWO of these LISTEN panels in at my 2LDance.org Development Studio immediately. I also plan on offering my studio concept (for the cost of the component parts - no charge for my content creative) to dance venues, in an effort to "make more dancers." I have one club lined up for this; probably late Summer. If that works, there may be a number of venues interested in having their own dance class facility. If so, each of them would be buying two Listening panels as part of the buildout of their studio. 2LDance.org is a not-for-profit adventure with the intent of doing some pretty cool things on a broad scale, including (in phase II) developing dancing classes for mobility-restricted dancers in SL (and RL via SL!) If you are interested, check out the site. Target opening for first class is June 1, but the development studio is open now. Thanks again for considering this!

Picture change have a preload time which means that if the command comes it takes 3-5 seconds before is shows, otherwise the picture is blur for 3-5 seconds. 2. All my objects are copyable. 3. My scripts can only be used in an object created by me. 5. When your danceball "Says" in local chat: [1 - WALTZ] , the frame needs to be with in 20 meter (20m=say range 10m whisper range). 4. Note that the" [1 - WALTZ]" is an IM or addressed only to the owner, it will not work. We have to find out that first. Greetings Ydille.
[2015/04/25 10:45] Carlyle Chaparral: I just tested the intan... and indeed, only the owner "hears" that VERBOSE string in chat. I am going to contact the Intan people, as well as TIS, and see if I can get that string spoken in open chat. If I fix that challenge... I very much appreciate your willingness to work on this and we could address those other points NP. I'm only interested in finished screen, not the script itself. Thank you VERY much for the dialogue! Here's hoping!

[2015/04/25 10:49] Ydille Resident: The string may also send on a channel open chat is channel zero.

[2015/04/26 20:53] Carlyle Chaparral: Hello, I have not heard back from Cecilia Zheng yet. I have asked her if she can mod an Intan to speak in chat or controlled channel. TIS is out, they don't have it at all. Still working on it.

[21:03] (You): Thanks for your reply, Cecilia.

[2015/04/25 10:17] Ydille Resident: (Saved Sat Apr 25 01:09:54 2015)Hello, a have a few notes: 1.
[2015/04/25 10:46] Ydille Resident: Yes very good
[2015/04/25 10:49] Ydille Resident: The string may also send on a channel open chat is channel zero.

[2015/04/26 20:53] Carlyle Chaparral: Hello, I have not heard back from Cecilia Zheng yet. I have asked her if she can mod an Intan to speak in chat or controlled channel. TIS is out, they don't have it at all. Still working on it.
