Couples Dance Machines
Most clubs and dance venues in Second Life provide one or more dance machines which allow guests to pick from dances installed by the club. 2LDance.org focuses on couples dancing, so we look for the couples dance machines (Red/Blue) rather than the individuals or solo dance machines (pink/blue.) The most popular dance machine is the INTAN, and we use it in our 2Ldance.org studio.

How to get the dance balls!
When you enter a room, move to an open area, and have the lead (taller) of your couple click (touch) the couples machine. You can also touch a REMOTE instead of the main machine. In a few seconds, pink and blue dance balls will rez near your position. Each dancer will then RIGHT CLICK their dance ball, and select "DANCE" or "SIT" or "ANIMATE" (however it is described.) Your avatar will jump onto the ball, and you will get a prompt in the upper right corner of your screen (and in CHAT) asking for permission to animate you. You MUST say yes, or you won't start dancing. If you don't start dancing, try turning off your AO (Animation Overide) or just STAND and jump off the ball and try it again.

The first page (MAIN menu) shows the SIX dances in our 2LDance 101 class, 1 through 6.
GROUP: be guided by live instructor (or defaults)
RANDOM: picks from all of the dances

     - Dance HUD to control machine from your screen
     - RESYNC (resets both dancers to the beginning)

Venue Dance Menus

Here are a number of club couples dance machine menus listed. You can see how different each club is, and how the dance names often provide little to no clue as to what kind of dance it is. When you find dances you really like, jot down the names, so you can look for them as you visit clubs. You'll have more fun dancing the right dances with every song.
