Costumes - Dance 101

Each of our 2LDance.org Live Instructors has their own style when it comes to the outfits they wear during class.   To help set the tone and texture of the class experience, we change outfits with every dance .   Here are some examples of the Instructor costumes you may see:

Costumes are a delightful part of the 2LDance.org
LIVE Instructor class experience.

01  WALTZ

Picture

Ballroom Elegance

The Waltz, in a Ballroom setting is the epitome of formal.
Our ladies will be in lavish gowns, flowing across the dance floor with grace.
Our gentlemen will be in a tuxedo, preferably with an accent color to complement the lady.

Future: in music set E, we plan on having a classic Viennese waltz, and be in 18th Century costumes.  Check out Rocca Sorrentina (104, 175, 2801) for nice freebie outfits for men and women

1940's, WWII-era, swinging was a fashion statement as well as a dance style.
Ladies will be flying in short skirts (nickers, please!) and sweater tops.
Gents will be sporting the big pants look... unless they are in uniform.

Uniforms we like (with SM links)
"Hot Wac"   $L 149
"Army Air Corps Outfit"  $L 699 (spendy!)
WWII Captains Uniform  $L 250 and others
available at:  Kilby's  Disl (71, 23, 130)

03  NIGHTCLUB

Picture

Dressy Date

Nightclub at 2LDance.org is basically West Coast Swing.  "Westies" are know to dress up a bit.  Sexy skirts or tight pants for the ladies, collared shirt and jacket for the guys.  You're dancing to impress, so why not dress to impress too!

04  SLOW

Slow dancing is where you get close and personal.  Casual clothes are just fine.   The Little Black Dress or sexy tight jeans will go well  with his dressy jeans and long-sleeved shirt with rolled up sleeves.

05  SALSA

Picture

Sassy Salsa

Salsa starts with that "salsa skirt" in red or a rainbow of bright colors.  Guys can do dress or casual, but the point is to make the lady look amazing.  Your hips are where the action is, so make sure your costumes show them off!

06   TANGO

The Tango is all about flourish and connection, two bodies moving as one.
Our street tango costumes are rough; barefoot, torn jeans, undershirt, just the very basics.
Our club tango can be very dressy, and usually very black!

Sexy and Sultry
